Description
The Oklahoma Healthy Food Financing Program provides financing for food retailers to offer healthy food in underserved communities that primarily serve low or moderate income populations. Eligible applicants include sole proprietorships, partnerships, limited liability companies, corporations, cooperatives, nonprofit organizations, nonprofit community development entities, universities, and government entities. Eligible projects include construction of new grocery stores and small food retailers, as well as renovations, expansions, and infrastructure upgrades for existing stores to improve the availability and quality of fresh produce and other healthy foods. Proposals can be submitted as loans or grants, with grants limited to 10000. Deadlines for submissions are January 1, April 1, July 1, and October 1. Approved applicants must agree to accept SNAP and WIC benefits, allocate at least 30 percent of retail space for perishable foods, hire local residents, and comply with data collection.
