The Growing in STEM Grant
This grant provides financial support and professional development for South Carolina educators to create innovative STEAM projects that engage students and promote critical skills.
Description
The Growing in STEM Grant, offered by South Carolina's Coalition for Mathematics and Science, supports innovative educational initiatives that foster a lifelong love of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts/Humanities, and Math). Five grants will be awarded, one from each region in South Carolina, providing up to $2,500 per grantee. Additionally, grantees will receive 8 hours of onsite STEAM-focused professional development valued at $1,500 to support the implementation of their initiative.
The grant is open to South Carolina preK-12 public and private educators involved in in-school or out-of-school learning. Eligible applicants must propose a curriculum-based project or unit that incorporates multiple STEAM aspects and aligns with key Life and Career Characteristics and World Class Skills outlined in the Profile of the South Carolina Graduate. Projects must be innovative, feasible, and designed for completion by May 3, 2025.
Applications should outline the proposed initiative, demonstrating how it will engage students in STEAM learning while fostering creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration. This grant provides educators with both financial support and professional development to bring their ideas to life and inspire future generations in STEAM fields.
