The Smuggler’s Foundation, established in 2008 by Smuggler’s Enterprises, Inc., focuses on community relations and philanthropy within the areas where the company operates. The Foundation supports local community initiatives that align with the company’s values, including partnerships with organizations that address community needs. Eligible applicants include local nonprofits and community organizations. Applications are submitted through the Foundation’s electronic grant application, requiring a proposal narrative that details the project, its community impact, and sustainability plans. Grants of $2,000 or more necessitate an in-person meeting before approval.
Other Relevant Information: To apply for the grant, organizations need to complete and submit a grant application form (pages 2-5) and a proposal narrative (limit 2 pages). The proposal narrative should include a summary of the project, information about the organization's mission and programs, details about the proposed project and its target population, intended outcomes or results of the project, measurement of success and progress tracking methods, qualifications of the organization to address the issue, sustainability plan beyond the grant period if applicable, and communication plans for sharing project results with the community. The work plan should include specific project activities and timelines as well as key personnel responsible for implementation.
