Description
The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS), Division of Public Health (DPH), is offering funding for Maternal Medicaid Enrollment Projects to support statewide or local organizations targeting pregnant and postpartum individuals (within 90 days of delivery) for Medicaid renewals and applications. The program aims to reduce maternal mortality and severe maternal morbidity by improving maternal health and addressing disparities through innovative programming and quality services.
This funding opportunity is open to organizations that can conduct activities such as direct outreach to assist with Medicaid applications and renewals, social media campaigns (including translations for underserved populations), communications planning, and community engagement. Projects must align with DHS’s goals of addressing maternal health disparities, enhancing data quality, and building a skilled workforce.
The grant provides up to $50,000 for an eight-month project period, running from February 1, 2025, to September 30, 2025. All funding must be utilized within the contract year, and no extensions will be granted. Selection will be based on program priorities, the applicant's capacity, and adherence to the application criteria.
Eligible organizations must demonstrate their ability to execute targeted programming that addresses the needs of the pregnant and postpartum population, particularly those with the highest unmet needs. The program prioritizes innovative and impactful approaches that reduce maternal health disparities and support Medicaid enrollment efforts.
Applications must be submitted following the guidelines outlined in the Request for Applications (RFA). Interested applicants should review the attached RFA document and prepare a detailed proposal that aligns with the program’s objectives. Applications will be evaluated based on alignment with priorities, ability to execute, and the expected impact of the proposed project.
