2025 Business Exterior Signage Grants
This program provides financial assistance to locally owned businesses in South Euclid for improving their exterior signage to enhance curb appeal and visibility.
Description
The City of South Euclid, in partnership with One South Euclid, is offering the 2025 Business Exterior Signage Grant Program to assist locally owned businesses with the installation or improvement of exterior signage. This program provides grants of up to $5,000 per eligible applicant to support street-visible signage improvements, including wall signs, window signs, and monument signs that enhance curb appeal. The program operates on a first-come, first-served basis and will accept applications beginning January 7, 2025, until funds are exhausted.
To qualify, businesses must have local ownership. National corporate chains are not eligible, although franchise businesses may be considered if they are locally owned. If the business owner is not also the property owner, written permission from the property owner must be included with the application. Eligible signage must be clearly visible from the street and contribute positively to the property’s exterior aesthetics.
Grant awards do not require matching funds; however, the One South Euclid Grant Review Committee may take into account the applicant’s ability to contribute additional funds when making funding decisions. Selected applicants will enter into a grant agreement with One South Euclid. Upon completion of the project and successful inspection, the grant funds will be disbursed directly to the contractor.
All signage projects must receive City approvals prior to installation, including clearance from the Architectural Review Board (ARB). The City’s Planning and Development Department will assist with navigating the approval process. Once a grant agreement is signed, the approval process must begin within two months, and the project must be completed within six months of signing. All work must be finalized by August 1, 2026, including any required inspections and sign-offs by the Building Department.
For questions or assistance during the application process, applicants may contact Michael Love, Planning and Development Director, at 216-691-4205 or via email at mlove@seuclid.com.
