Fayateville Community Development Block Grant
This program provides funding to metropolitan cities like Fayetteville for community revitalization projects that benefit low- and moderate-income residents, support economic development, and improve public facilities and services.
Description
This grant opportunity is the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program funded by the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The program aims to promote community revitalization throughout the country by providing annual grants on a formula basis to over 1,000 metropolitan cities, including Fayetteville. CDBG funds can be used for neighborhood revitalization, economic development, and community facilities and services. To receive funding, the City must submit a five-year Consolidated Plan (CP) and an annual Action Plan. Projects funded by CDBG must meet at least one of three national objectives: aid in preventing or eliminating slums or blight, benefit low- and moderate-income persons, or address urgent community development needs. Eligible activities include property acquisition, energy conservation, construction of public facilities, economic development support, rehabilitation of structures, and more. Ineligible activities include government building construction and political activities. The Community Resources Division is responsible for the Consolidated Plan (CP) and the Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report (CAPER), which informs the public about how CDBG funds have been used each year.
