The Partners in Conservation (PIC) grant program offered by the Teton Conservation District (TCD) provides funding for natural resource conservation projects within Teton County, Wyoming. This program supports initiatives that benefit the local environment and community by addressing conservation priorities such as land, water, vegetation, wildlife, geographic information systems (GIS), sustainability, and education. Funding is aligned with TCD’s 2020–2025 Strategic and Long-Range Plans to maximize positive environmental impacts.

Eligibility for the PIC grants extends to a wide range of applicants, including nonprofits, businesses, educational institutions, government agencies, individuals, and landowners. Projects must be located within the Teton Conservation District or serve its residents and environment. Applicants are required to match or exceed TCD’s funding contribution with cash or in-kind contributions unless otherwise approved. Grants are typically awarded for projects that can be completed within one year, although multi-year projects may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Funding amounts vary based on the scope of the project, with typical requests ranging from $2,000 to $10,000. There is no strict minimum or maximum funding limit. TCD may disburse funds either in advance of the project start date or as reimbursement upon project completion. Applicants must submit their grant requests by 5:00 PM (MT) on February 1, 2025. Each applicant will have the opportunity to present their project to the TCD Board of Supervisors on February 13, 2025, during a 5-minute presentation followed by a 10-minute Q&A session.

Grant funding is allocated across several priority categories. In the Land category, TCD supports agricultural production, vegetation monitoring, irrigation infrastructure improvements, and community gardening initiatives. The Water category emphasizes water quality, aquatic habitat health, stormwater and wastewater management, and drinking water issues. Vegetation grants focus on native plant restoration, invasive species management, and wildfire risk reduction. Wildlife-related grants aim to protect habitats, mitigate human-wildlife conflicts, and assess the impact of development on wildlife populations.

Additional categories include GIS, where TCD supports geospatial analysis for conservation efforts; Sustainability, which includes initiatives such as recycling, composting, and alternative energy projects; and Education, supporting conservation-focused school programs, publications, and events. Proposals are evaluated based on their alignment with TCD’s strategic goals and their potential to benefit the environment and community.
