Wyoming Foundation Grant
This grant provides funding to cultural, educational, and human service organizations that enhance the quality of life for residents in Wyoming County, New York.
Description
The Wyoming Foundation Grants Program, administered by the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo, supports cultural, educational, and human service organizations working to improve quality of life in Wyoming County, New York. Established in 1976 by Dr. James MacCallum, the Foundation has funded a wide variety of local initiatives since 1977, with an emphasis on community-centered impact.
Following a strategic planning process in 2023, the Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to two primary funding priorities:
Educational opportunities for youth and adults
Arts and cultural opportunities for youth and adults
While these areas are emphasized, the Foundation remains open to other projects that demonstrate significant benefit to Wyoming County residents. Applicants proposing initiatives outside these priorities may still be considered, provided the proposals clearly demonstrate positive community impact.
The 2025 application cycle opens on April 1, 2025, and the submission deadline is April 30, 2025, at 4:00 PM. All applications must be submitted electronically through the Foundant Grant Lifecycle Manager (GLM). Paper, email, or PDF applications will not be accepted under any circumstances.
The total amount available for distribution in 2025 is approximately $32,000, with individual grants capped at $5,000. Funding notifications will be made in early June 2025. Approved grantees will receive their funds once they have completed and returned all required post-award paperwork and resolved any outstanding obligations from previous grants (if applicable).
To be eligible, organizations must have valid 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status as determined by the IRS and must be based in or delivering services to Wyoming County. Only one open competitive grant per organization is permitted at any given time.
Applicants are encouraged to review the detailed grant guidelines and application questions prior to submission. For questions about eligibility, process, or technical issues with the grant portal, applicants may contact Darren Penoyer at darrenp@cfgb.org or call (716) 852-2857 ext. 206.
