The Texas Capital Foundation Honors Awards program supports organizations that create innovative, sustainable solutions aligned with its philanthropic pillars: Live, Learn, Lift, and STAR. Each pillar targets specific community needs: Live supports mental health and chronic disease prevention programs for children; Learn funds STEAM education initiatives for teens; Lift focuses on youth mentorship and prevention programs; and STAR provides assistance to military and veteran families. Grants of $50,000 are available for the Live, Learn, and Lift categories, while the STAR Award offers $100,000.

Eligible applicants must have a tax-exempt status under section 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(4) of the Internal Revenue Code and deliver services to low- and moderate-income communities within the Texas Capital service areas of Dallas, Fort Worth, Austin, Houston, and San Antonio. Applicants need a proven track record of at least three years and must provide supporting documentation, including financial statements, a list of board members, and an organizational chart. At the end of the grant year, all awardees must submit an Impact Statement outlining the outcomes and impact of their funded projects.

The application process starts on November 1, 2024, and ends on January 3, 2025. After initial reviews, the top 12 finalists will be announced on February 21, 2025, and will present their proposals during a Pitch Day scheduled for March 21, 2025. Final award decisions will be announced on May 5, 2025.

Organizations or activities not eligible for funding include political advocacy, individual applicants, for-profit entities, municipalities, membership-based organizations, ticketed fundraising events such as galas or golf tournaments, and groups that do not primarily serve low- to moderate-income communities.

This program is best suited for organizations with a strong history of community impact in one of the specified focus areas. Successful applicants should clearly demonstrate their program’s effectiveness, scalability, and alignment with the foundation’s mission while adhering to all submission requirements and deadlines.
