Brem Foundation Grant 2025-2026
This grant provides financial support for organizations in the DC metro area to offer breast cancer screening and diagnostic services to financially disadvantaged patients, ensuring equitable access regardless of background.
Description
The Brem Foundation’s B-Fund 2025 Grant Program is designed to champion early detection of breast cancer through innovation, education, equitable access, and advocacy. The B-Fund program funds diagnostic and screening breast tests for financially disadvantaged patients. Originally focused on diagnostic tests, the program expanded post-pandemic to include screening mammograms, a practice that will continue for the 2025/2026 grant cycle.
Institutions applying for B-Fund support must demonstrate capabilities in providing breast screening and diagnostic services either directly or through formal partnerships. They must have a financial assistance policy in place and ensure patients cannot be enrolled in another financial assistance program within two weeks of experiencing symptoms or an abnormal screening mammogram. Funded organizations must also commit to equitable service provision regardless of race, nationality, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or socioeconomic status.
B-Fund grants are designated primarily for institutions located in the DC metro area. Funds must be strictly used for breast screening and diagnostic tests, such as mammography, ultrasounds, MRIs, biopsies, molecular imaging, and pathology costs. Funds cannot be used for salaries, post-diagnosis care, transportation, administrative costs, educational materials, equipment, research, or any expenses outside the direct diagnostic process. Services funded must be billed at or below Medicaid negotiated rates.
The grant application process includes submitting a Statement of Need, an Intended Use of Funds with projected patient numbers, adherence to financial assistance policies, intended fund use limitations, and the requested amount and time frame. Applications open on April 8, 2025, and are due by May 15, 2025. Fund distribution is scheduled for July 1, 2025. Grantees must submit reports by January 31, 2026, and July 31, 2026, detailing the utilization of funds, patient demographics, barriers to screening, and outcomes. A Statement of Impact on how the funds improved patient care is also required at the end of the cycle.
All applications must be submitted in PDF format to info@bremfoundation.org, and an MOU will be signed upon award confirmation. Patient testimonials are encouraged to support Brem Foundation’s ongoing fundraising and marketing efforts.
