Jewish Community Foundation Grants
This grant provides funding to non-profit organizations in Southern New Jersey that offer innovative programs and services benefiting the local community, particularly those serving Jewish and secular populations.
The Jewish Community Foundation, Inc. (JCF) offers grants to non-profit organizations serving the Southern New Jersey community. Eligible applicants include Jewish Federation of Southern New Jersey agencies, synagogues, Jewish day schools, and secular non-profit organizations. The JCF awards grants twice each year through its Spring and Fall grant cycles. Grants are designed to support innovative programs and services that benefit residents of Burlington, Camden, and Gloucester counties in South Jersey.
The maximum funding available per approved application is $5,000, which represents an increase from the previous cap of $3,600. Organizations may apply for funding for more than one program per cycle. Programs are eligible to receive funding for up to three cycles, usually once per year for three years, provided a new application is submitted for each cycle. The grants are intended to support new and innovative programming rather than supplementing existing funding or ongoing operational budgets.
The Spring 2025 grant cycle opens with a required application submission deadline of Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. As part of the application process, applicants must download and complete the JCF Grants Application and follow the detailed application instructions provided by JCF. A complimentary Grants Workshop will be offered on Thursday, January 23, 2025, at 9:00 a.m., as a hybrid meeting. Attendance at this workshop is optional but encouraged. Prospective applicants should RSVP for the workshop by emailing marketingjcf@jfedsnj.org.
Once applications are submitted, they will be reviewed by the JCF’s Grants Committee, with final decisions expected within 6 to 8 weeks. During this review process, applicants may be contacted to provide further information or clarification to ensure the committee has a comprehensive understanding of each request. Funding for the grants is provided by the JCF’s Community Grants Endowment Fund and several named endowment funds, including the Fannie & Meyer Adelman Family EF, Florence & Fred Bryen EF, Bush Refrigeration EF, Glenn Cohen Memorial EF, Keren Ami (My People’s) EF, Larry Lerner Memorial EF, Bertha & William Remer EF, Stella Schaevitz EF, Louis Silverman Community EF, and Norma & Leonard Zelnick EF.
For organizations awarded grants, JCF requires the completion of a Grant Reimbursement Request Form along with submission of receipts, evaluations, and a final event budget to process reimbursements. Organizations can direct questions, concerns, or feedback regarding the application process to Mike Staff at 856-673-2528. JCF strives to make the grant process as user-friendly as possible for all applicants.
