Ohio County Tourism, Inc. has opened its 2025 Marketing Grant program to support nonprofit organizations that promote tourism and encourage overnight stays in Rising Sun and Ohio County, Indiana. These grants aim to assist with marketing expenses such as brochures, posters, advertising, signs, and banners for events held in the area throughout 2025. By helping cover marketing costs, the grant program seeks to enhance event visibility and attract visitors, thereby boosting local tourism and economic activity.

Eligible applicants are not-for-profit organizations that plan to host events within Rising Sun/Ohio County in 2025. Past grant recipients have included local organizations such as the City of Rising Sun (for the Navy Bean Festival), the Ohio County Historical Society, Red Wolf Sanctuary, and Rising Sun Band Boosters, among others. These grants have supported events like festivals, car shows, and educational programs, as well as materials like brochures and signs that contribute to local tourism infrastructure.

Grant applications are available for pick-up at the Visitors Center at 217 N. High Street, Rising Sun, from Tuesday through Sunday during specific hours, or by email request through Kendal Miller, the Ohio County Tourism Executive Director, at kendal@enjoyrisingsun.com. The submission deadline is Thursday, December 19, 2024, at 4:00 p.m., and applications must be submitted by this time to be considered.

Award notifications will be made by February 28, 2025, allowing recipients ample time to plan and implement marketing efforts for their 2025 events. Applicants should ensure that their proposed marketing efforts align with the grant’s goal of increasing tourism and are encouraged to use grant funds specifically for promotional materials that will attract visitors to Rising Sun/Ohio County.
