Details:
The 2024 Volunteer Fire Assistance Grant Application Packet for Iowa Fire Departments serving communities with a population of 10,000 or less is now available.  This is a 50/50% federal matching grant.
Priority will be given to: 

applicants who have submitted Iowa Wildland Fire Reports during 2023 & 2024, 
acres of state land protected, 
communities which have not received funds under this program in the previous funding period, 
areas of greatest need, 
departments who utilize Wildland PPE and who have strong wildland fire suppression requests.

Funding Information 
Volunteer Fire Assistance Program will pay 50 percent of the cost (not to exceed a maximum of $4500), with the local agencies also paying 50 percent.
