Description
The Kids Trust Fund Grant, managed by The Foundation for Enhancing Communities, provides up to $15,000 in funding to nonprofit organizations supporting young children affected by abuse within nine counties in Pennsylvania: Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Lebanon, Perry, York, Lancaster, Juniata, and Mifflin. Established in memory of Gary L. Houck, Jr., the fund’s mission is to create a safe, joyful environment for children experiencing physical or emotional abuse or neglect. Eligible activities include therapeutic recreation, early intervention, support groups, and mental health services.
Grant applicants must serve children aged 0-18, operate within the eligible counties, and propose enhancements to existing programs with a sustainability plan. Projects should demonstrate innovation, empowerment, collaboration, and the potential for long-term impact. Applications are evaluated on alignment with the Kids Trust Fund mission, measurable outcomes, defined roles, diversity, and inclusivity, with a total of 50 points available in the evaluation.

The fund does not support advertising, capital campaigns, lobbying, religious purposes, retroactive projects, or new staff without sustainability plans.
