The Council Community Grant Program is administered by the Town of Castle Rock, Colorado, and is supported through its General Fund. This initiative aims to fund nonprofit organizations that contribute to enhancing the quality of life in the Castle Rock community. The program reflects the town's commitment to supporting local initiatives that benefit its residents, particularly focusing on youth, seniors, environmental sustainability, and the arts.
The primary objective of the Council Community Grant Program is to provide financial support for specific community-based projects that align with the town’s goals for social enrichment and environmental sustainability. Grants are intended for nonprofit organizations and must clearly demonstrate a community-oriented impact. This includes activities that enhance services or programming in areas such as youth engagement, senior support, community-based environmental actions, and performing or visual arts.
Funding through this program is modest, with individual grants capped at $1,000 per request per year. The total annual allocation does not exceed $16,000, with no more than $4,000 distributed in any one quarter. This structure ensures equitable distribution of funds throughout the year and provides multiple opportunities for organizations to receive support.
Eligible organizations must be nonprofit entities that can provide an IRS Affirmation Letter to verify their status. Each nonprofit is allowed only one grant per year through this program. Applications are reviewed on a quarterly basis, and if not approved in a given quarter, they may be resubmitted for consideration in the next quarter. However, all applications are subject to re-evaluation and must still meet current requirements at the time of the new review.
Applications can be submitted either by email or through standard mail to the Finance Department of the Town of Castle Rock. Additionally, a representative from each applying organization must attend the Town Council meeting when their application is under review, reinforcing the importance of community engagement and transparency in the grant process.
For 2025, quarterly deadlines are as follows: February 21 for the first quarter with review on March 18; May 20 for the second quarter with review on June 17; August 15 for the third quarter with review on September 16; and November 14 for the fourth quarter with review on December 16.
