Community Impact Fund
This funding opportunity provides financial support for community-driven initiatives focused on substance abuse prevention, youth activities, economic development, and assistance for low-income households in specific counties of West Virginia and Ohio.
Description
The Community Impact Fund, managed by the Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley (CFOV), provides grants from a pool of unrestricted funds contributed by various donors. These funds support flexible, community-driven initiatives in Hancock, Brooke, Ohio, Marshall, Tyler, and Wetzel counties in West Virginia, and Belmont and Jefferson counties in Ohio. Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) organizations, faith-based organizations, and government entities such as schools and libraries.
The fund targets specific focus areas: substance abuse prevention and treatment, next-generation leadership and mentoring, youth recreation and activities, programs to enhance economic and workforce development, and support for households categorized as ALICE (Asset-Limited, Income-Constrained, Employed).
The application process begins with a Letter of Intent, submitted through CFOV’s grant portal between November 1 and December 5, 2024. Selected applicants will be invited to submit a full grant application by mid-December, and funding decisions are expected in February. Awarded projects must be completed within 12 months, with a final report due through the same online portal.
Applicants should submit their materials early to allow time to resolve potential technical issues, as assistance on the deadline day cannot be guaranteed. For login support, contact Debbie at CFOV by phone or email
