This scholarship provides $2,000 to graduating high school seniors in specific Iowa counties who are passionate about reading and writing and plan to pursue higher education.

Description

The Des Moines Women’s Club Literature Scholarship is a $2,000 award for graduating high school seniors who demonstrate a strong passion for reading and writing. The scholarship supports students planning to attend an accredited college, university, or conservatory during the 2025-2026 academic year. Applications are due by January 27, 2025, and recipients will be notified by March 10, 2025.

Eligible applicants must reside in or be enrolled in a school located in one of the following counties: Polk, Boone, Dallas, Jasper, Madison, Marion, Story, or Warren. Students may apply for only one scholarship offered by the Des Moines Women’s Club per year, and applications must include all required components, including references, to be considered complete.

The recipient is encouraged to attend the DMWC Scholarship Award Program on April 16, 2025. The scholarship funds will be sent directly to the recipient’s chosen educational institution after registration verification and will be applied toward tuition or related expenses for the upcoming school year.

The Des Moines Women’s Club encourages aspiring writers and avid readers to apply and wishes all candidates success in their educational and career pursuits.
