Description

The Certified Local Government (CLG) Grant Program is designed to support Iowa cities, counties, and land use districts that have signed a Certified Local Government Agreement with the State of Iowa and the National Park Service. The program aims to promote local historic preservation efforts through grants for National Register nominations, education projects, surveys, preservation planning, and predevelopment projects. Eligible applicants must be in good standing and current with their annual report submissions. The 2025 grant round is currently open. Draft applications are due by August 9, 2024, with final applications due by September 3, 2024. Awards are allocated to help communities develop local historic preservation programs and integrate preservation into broader planning processes.
