Description
The U.S. Mission to Sudan, under the Office of Sudan Affairs (OSA), invites proposals for the Public Diplomacy Small Grants Program as part of its Annual Program Statement. This initiative aims to support projects that advance U.S. policy goals and foster mutual understanding between Sudan and the United States. The program prioritizes initiatives that incorporate American expertise, organizations, or institutions to enhance participants’ understanding of U.S. policy, culture, or best practices. Successful proposals must clearly outline expected outcomes, measurable impacts, and regular reporting mechanisms to track progress. U.S. government officials may conduct site visits to assess the program’s implementation.
The funding opportunity focuses on specific priority program areas, including promoting women’s leadership, entrepreneurship, and STEM education; fostering peace through the arts; promoting humanitarian assistance and civilian protection; advancing civic education and engagement; enhancing media capacity building; and advocating for human rights awareness. Proposals must align with at least one of these priority areas and integrate American engagement elements. The target audience for funded programs includes youth aged 18-35, young professionals, and marginalized communities, particularly women and underprivileged or culturally diverse groups.
Projects supported under this program may include academic and professional lectures, seminars, and speaker programs; artistic and cultural workshops, joint performances, and exhibitions; cultural heritage conservation and preservation efforts; professional and academic exchanges; and conferences, workshops, or training programs. While innovative approaches are encouraged, all proposals should demonstrate clear objectives and achievable results.
Eligible applicants for this funding opportunity include registered nonprofit organizations, think tanks, civil society and non-governmental organizations, cultural organizations, non-profit or government educational institutions, and government agencies. For-profit entities are not eligible to apply. Cost-sharing or matching contributions are not required for this grant.
