Innovative Queue Management Solutions (iQMS) Demonstration Program - Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) Load Request (Track 2)
The "Innovative Queue Management Solutions (iQMS) Demonstration Program - Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment (EVSE) Load Request (Track 2)" grant is a $11.2 million funding initiative by the U.S. Department of Energy to help distribution utilities streamline and speed up the process of integrating mid-scale clean energy projects and electric vehicle charging stations into the power grid, with the aim of reducing delays and supporting decarbonization efforts.
Description
The iQMS program, led by the U.S. Department of Energy's Interconnection Innovation e-Xchange (i2X) and the Joint Office of Energy and Transportation, offers $11.2 million in direct funding to partner with distribution utilities. The goal is to optimize and accelerate queue management for non-residential, mid-scale clean energy projects and EVSE service load requests (100 kW to 5 MW). The program supports distribution utilities to implement, test, and pilot solutions that improve interconnection processes, reduce delays, and align with decarbonization goals. The program runs for 24 months and focuses on innovative queue management solutions for electric vehicle charging stations and other clean energy infrastructure.
