City of Hammond Community Corporation Grant 2024
This grant provides financial support to local nonprofits in Hammond to improve community quality of life through projects in arts, civic betterment, education, and health.
Description
The Hammond Community Corporation (HCC) is now accepting applications for its 2024 grant program, which supports local nonprofits in enhancing the quality of life for Hammond residents. Established in 1997, HCC provides financial assistance to civic groups, churches, and 501(c)(3) organizations serving within the City of Hammond. The grant program is funded through an endowment created with donations from the Horseshoe Casino-Hammond (formerly Empress Casino-Hammond).
Applications are available from November 4, 2024, to January 10, 2025, and can be obtained online at www.gohammond.com or at various Hammond locations, including the Department of City Planning, Mayor’s Office, City Council Office, Hammond Public Library, and School City of Hammond. Completed applications must be submitted in hard copy either by mail or in person to the Department of City Planning (Room G-17, 5925 Calumet Avenue, Hammond, IN 46320). Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Mailed applications must be postmarked by January 10, 2025. Late or electronic submissions will not be accepted.
Grants are capped at $1,500 per project or program and are available in four categories: Arts & Humanities (supporting visual, performing, and literary arts), Civic Betterment (improving public quality of life), Education (enhancing learning opportunities for youth and adults), and Health & Welfare (promoting community wellness). Eligible applicants must be Hammond-based 501(c)(3) organizations that do not discriminate based on race, creed, or color.
