City of Rochester Wellness Grant 2025
This funding opportunity provides city departments in Rochester with financial support to create inclusive wellness programs that promote employee health and well-being.
Description
The 2025 City of Rochester Wellness Grant is an internal funding opportunity offered by the City of Rochester Wellness Committee to support departmental wellness initiatives within the city's government workforce. This grant is designed to encourage city departments to implement engaging and inclusive wellness programs that promote the health and well-being of their employees. The Wellness Committee aims to foster a culture of well-being by helping departments tailor programs to their team’s specific interests and needs.
Departments are eligible to receive up to $500 in grant funding to cover program expenses. These funds can be used for a variety of wellness-related initiatives, such as fitness classes, wellness tools, or health-themed prizes. The application process requires departments to propose a program that is inclusive of all employees at the worksite. Awarded grants are subject to specific spending guidelines, such as limitations on prize value (no single prize exceeding $50) and the requirement that only City of Rochester Wellness logos be used on any promotional giveaways.
To apply, departments must complete an application form detailing their wellness program's objectives, proposed timeline, communication strategy, and a budget breakdown. Applications must be submitted via email to Wellness@CityofRochester.Gov. The grant is limited to 20 awards and is available on a first-come, first-served basis. Applicants will be contacted by a committee representative within two weeks of submission to confirm approval.
Examples of eligible programs include “Gratitude is the Attitude,” a mental health journaling initiative; “Team Walking Challenge,” a physical activity competition; “The Biggest H2O User,” a hydration tracking challenge; and “My Plate the Healthy Way,” a nutrition education series. Each suggested program comes with ready-to-use materials like trackers, educational content, and promotional posters.
The grant application opened with the announcement on March 24, 2025, and applications must be submitted by the deadline of Wednesday, April 30, 2025. There is no indication that the program is recurring or will be offered again in subsequent years. Interested departments are encouraged to apply promptly due to the limited number of awards available.
For questions or further information, applicants can contact the committee by emailing Wellness@CityofRochester.Gov.
