The Washington Federation of Animal Care and Control Agencies offers grants funded by the "We Love Our Pets" License Plates, dedicated to supporting actual spay/neuter surgeries for dogs and cats within Washington State. Eligibility for this grant is restricted to member organizations of the federation. These grants are awarded quarterly, with application deadlines on March 31, June 30, September 30, and December 31 each year. Priority is given to organizations targeting specific groups such as cats, Pit Bull breeds and mixes, or other at-risk animal populations, pets of low-income owners, areas with limited access to these surgeries, communities with high euthanasia rates, those able to conduct the most surgeries at the lowest cost, and those that collaborate with other organizations.
