The Cooperative Nursery Grant, administered by the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC), provides funding for new construction, improvements, and equipment purchases for nurseries participating in the PFBC’s Cooperative Nursery Program. This grant aims to support projects that enhance fish-rearing facilities, improve water quality monitoring, and expand nursery operations. The grant is available for eligible organizations involved in the Cooperative Nursery Program. Funding decisions are made annually, and application memos are sent to potential sponsors in February or March.

The grant includes two categories: Purchase Grants and Construction Grants. Purchase Grants cover equipment acquisitions and must be completed by June 30, 2026, while Construction Grants, supporting facility expansion and improvements, have a completion deadline of June 30, 2027. Applications for both grants are due by June 1, 2025. Funding cannot be used for individual projects, salaries, fish feed, or political activities. Awarded projects must wait for official execution of the grant agreement by the Pennsylvania Comptroller's Office before beginning work.
