The Commemoration Fund, established by the Zarrow Family Foundations, supports initiatives addressing social, political, and economic injustices affecting Black, Indigenous, Latinx, and other People of Color (BIPOC) in Tulsa County. The fund prioritizes solutions that tackle systemic racism and white supremacy, fostering sustainability and collaboration.

The Fund provides grants for general operations, specific programs, facilities, equipment, organizational capacity building, and other initiatives to address disparities. Funding requests may range from $3,000 to $100,000, with a preference for one-year grants. Multi-year grants (up to three years) are considered if they demonstrate a significant, transformative impact.

Eligibility requirements include being a 501(c)(3) public charity or having a fiscal sponsor with the same designation, operating in Tulsa County, and demonstrating financial management capacity. Preference is given to nonprofits with minority leadership and those operating in minority-majority communities within the county.

The application process requires creating or using an existing account on the foundation’s portal. Applicants must submit organizational and project budgets, board and leadership team lists, financial statements, and other relevant documentation. Applications are reviewed for their potential to create sustainable and transformative change.
