The Visions – Projects + Events Grant program, administered by HumanitiesDC, supports innovative humanities projects designed for public audiences in Washington, DC. This grant program funds initiatives that explore and interpret the humanities creatively, including festivals, gatherings, and documentaries. The program offers grants of up to $25,000 for projects beginning May 1, 2025, and concluding no later than April 30, 2026. The application deadline is February 18, 2025, with the Request for Proposal (RFP) becoming available on December 10, 2024.
Eligible applicants must be nonprofit organizations based in Washington, DC. The grant program encourages diverse and engaging interpretations of the humanities, with a focus on fostering public understanding and community engagement. Projects may include exhibitions, events, performances, or other forms of humanities-based programming.
To assist applicants, HumanitiesDC will host an information session and a Visions Grant Workshop on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at 12 PM. Prospective applicants can also schedule one-on-one office hours with grants staff to discuss project ideas, review requirements, or receive help navigating the grant portal.

Previous grant workshops and slide decks are available online to offer insights into the application process. All materials must be submitted via the online grant portal, and incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
