2025-2026 AmeriCorps Competitive Grant
This grant provides funding for nonprofit organizations and other eligible entities to engage AmeriCorps participants in addressing critical community challenges across various focus areas, including education, disaster services, and environmental stewardship.
Description
The 2025 AmeriCorps Competitive Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) announced by the New Jersey Commission on National and Community Service invites applications for programs that utilize AmeriCorps participants to address significant community issues. Funded by AmeriCorps, the federal service program, the grants support evidence-based or evidence-informed models that align with the focus areas of Disaster Services, Economic Opportunity, Education, Environmental Stewardship, Healthy Futures, and Veterans and Military Families. Participants benefit from a living allowance of $20,400 for full-time service and an educational award of approximately $7,395.
Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations (public or private), Indian Tribes, faith-based organizations, local education agencies (such as charter schools), institutions of higher education, government entities (e.g., cities, counties, state departments), labor organizations, and partnerships among these entities. Applicants must register with SAM and have a Unique Entity Identifier to be eligible for an award.
Priority consideration will be given to programs that significantly incorporate serving communities, benefiting AmeriCorps members, evidence-based approaches, and climate-related initiatives. However, meeting a priority area does not guarantee funding.
Applications must be submitted via eGrants by November 26, 2024. Attendance at a general technical assistance session on October 10, 2024, is required, either live or through recorded viewing. For further details and resources, applicants can visit the New Jersey Department of State's website or contact the Commission at AmeriCorps.NJ@sos.nj.gov.
