Description

The Federal-Aid Surface Transportation Block Grant (STBG) Program assists public road jurisdictions with funding for roads on Federal-aid routes, bridges on any public road, transit capital improvements, and eligible transportation planning activities for Metropolitan Planning Organizations (MPOs) and Regional Planning Affiliations (RPAs). Established under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), it aims to preserve and improve the condition and performance of Federal-aid highways, bridges, and tunnels on public roads. Funds may also be used for pedestrian, bicycle infrastructure, and transit capital projects, including intercity bus terminals.
