City of Corvallis Green Grants 2025
This funding opportunity supports community-driven environmental projects in Corvallis, available to individuals, organizations, and businesses that enhance local sustainability efforts.
Description
The City of Corvallis, Oregon, is currently accepting applications for its 2025 Green Grants program, an annual community-focused initiative supporting local efforts that align with the Corvallis Climate Action Plan (CAP). The program, now in its third year, aims to fund projects and initiatives that promote sustainability and address climate change through tangible, community-centered actions.
The application period for 2025 is open from March 1 to March 31. All proposed projects must be completed by December 31, 2025. Green Grants will award a total of $5,000 this year, with individual project funding levels not specified but historically covering a range of small-scale community actions. Applications are reviewed by the Climate Action Advisory Board (CAAB) and final awards are approved by the Corvallis City Council. In 2025, CAAB has emphasized a focus on project proposals aligned with Building and Energy-related CAP strategies.
Eligible applicants include individuals, neighborhood associations, nonprofits, businesses, and community groups. Projects must be located within Corvallis city limits and cannot benefit a single individual or household. Proposals involving City property or the public right-of-way must receive prior departmental approval. Preference is given to projects that demonstrate community impact, feasibility for on-time completion, and alignment with CAP strategies.
Example eligible projects include installation of native plant gardens, educational programs focused on waste reduction, efforts to increase furniture reuse, and improvements in energy efficiency through the use of electric equipment. Past award recipients include organizations such as Corvallis Fall Festival, Electrify Corvallis, Marys River Watershed Council, and the Corvallis Multicultural Literacy Center.
Applications must be submitted through the City’s online form, though print submissions are also accepted via mail or in person at the City Manager’s Office. A public information session was held on March 12, 2025, and a recording is available for applicants. For grants over $600, recipients must submit a W-9 form with tax ID details. Funds are expected to be disbursed by June 30, 2025, following the award announcements in May.
