Description
The William and Minnette Goldsmith Foundation, a supporting foundation of the Stark Community Foundation, offers annual grants to nonprofit organizations and government entities that directly benefit Stark County, Ohio. Established in 1951 and integrated into Stark Community Foundation in 1999, the Goldsmith Foundation honors the philanthropic legacy of William and Minnette Goldsmith by supporting charitable causes with a local impact.
Eligible applicants include tax-exempt private agencies, 501(c)(3) public charities, and government entities either located in Stark County or providing services that directly benefit the community. The Foundation considers requests for personnel funding, with a preference for advancement or development positions, as well as other charitable activities that align with its mission. Proposals may request up to $15,000 in grant funding.
All applications must be submitted online through Stark Community Foundation’s Grant Portal, and no paper or email submissions are accepted. The application deadline is September 5, 2025, and award notifications will be sent by mail in October 2025.
As part of the grant requirements, recipients must complete a final evaluation report at the conclusion of the grant period. This includes a narrative on the outcomes achieved and financial details on how the awarded funds were utilized. Failure to submit this report will impact eligibility for future funding from the Foundation.
The Foundation continues the Goldsmiths’ tradition of charitable giving, focusing on initiatives that sustain and advance the welfare of Stark County residents.
