Description
The 2024 BLOOM Grant Program for Woman-owned Small Businesses in York County offers micro-grants of $500 to $1,500 to businesses that are at least 51% women-owned. This program aims to support tangible improvements that enhance business growth, customer experience, and the overall business environment in York County. The grant funds must be used for specific improvements such as interior or exterior renovations, curb appeal enhancements, safety and lighting upgrades, equipment purchases for better functionality (e.g., commercial kitchen equipment, point of sale technology), space expansions, and outdoor seating or retail areas. Marketing or advertising expenses are also eligible.
Ineligible expenses include owner compensation, payroll, mortgage or lease payments, utilities, regular operating supplies, and debt payments. Grants will be awarded based on need and potential impact, with the BLOOM Business Empowerment Center retaining the right to provide partial funding to applicants.
Priority is given to businesses owned by veterans, Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC), and those that use local businesses to execute grant-funded projects. Applications must include an itemized budget and follow the guidelines provided by the program.
