Description
The John Z. Duling Grant Program, established by a bequest from John Z. Duling of Indiana, aims to provide start-up or seed funding to support innovative research and technology transfer projects that benefit arborists' work. Grants support exploratory work in early stages of untested yet potentially transformative research ideas, such as applying new approaches to research questions or novel interdisciplinary perspectives.
The program focuses on Propagation, Plant Selection, Development of New Varieties, and Planting/Establishment, and Arboriculture Theory and Practice. Grants offer a maximum award of $25,000, with projects to be completed within one to three years. Eligible applicants must first submit a Letter of Inquiry by September 15, 2024, followed by a full application due by October 1, 2024.
