2025-26 Keep Louisiana Beautiful Beautification Grant
This grant provides funding to Louisiana municipalities and parishes for beautification projects that enhance public spaces through the planting of native plants and landscaping improvements.
Description
The 2025–2026 Beautification Grant from Keep Louisiana Beautiful (KLB), supported by the State of Louisiana and the Office of the Lieutenant Governor, is now open for applications and will close on June 20, 2025. This reimbursement grant program is designed to enhance the appearance of Louisiana communities by funding projects that improve public spaces such as community entry points and roadway medians. The grant supports the idea that well-maintained and attractive public areas can reduce litter and promote civic pride.
Eligible projects must involve the planting of native trees, shrubs, and perennial plants, and may include landscaping materials and welcome signs, with specific funding limits for each. Projects must be located on public property and completed by May 22, 2026. Funding awards range from $1,000 to $10,000, and applicants must provide at least a 15% match through cash, in-kind contributions, or volunteer hours. At least 25% of all plantings must be native to Louisiana. Annuals, food and beverage purchases, salaries, fundraising expenses, and certain materials or project types are not eligible for funding.
Eligible applicants include Louisiana municipalities and parishes. All applicants must be State Certified Vendors, be in good standing with the Louisiana Secretary of State, and submit a W-9 form. Additional requirements include a letter from the applicant’s highest authorizing official approving the use of public land and agreeing to maintain the project, a planting design sketch, maintenance and irrigation plans, and “before” photos of the site. Projects must show community engagement and volunteer participation.
Awardees are also required to fulfill public communication tasks, such as posting on social media, sending press releases, and placing signage at the project site acknowledging the support of KLB and the Lt. Governor. A final report is due by May 22, 2026, and must include photographs, social media documentation, press materials, receipts, and reimbursement forms. Applicants must also participate in the "Love the Boot Week" community event in April 2026.
The application, along with a sample form for preparation, is available online. A mandatory informational webinar must be attended prior to finalizing the grant agreement. Questions can be directed to grants@keeplouisianabeautiful.org.
