Joint Hypersonics Transition Office

This opportunity seeks innovative organizations to develop and demonstrate prototype solutions that enhance hypersonic technologies for national defense applications.

Description

The Joint Hypersonics Transition Office (JHTO) 2025 Request for Proposals (RFP) is an opportunity aimed at addressing technical gaps in hypersonic systems by supporting the development and demonstration of prototype solutions. The project is designed to facilitate the transition of hypersonic technologies to operational systems with an emphasis on developing new technologies and solutions that will support national defense needs. This initiative is sponsored by the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Crane and JHTO and is aligned with the Department of Defense's (DoD) objectives for advancing hypersonic technology.

The purpose of this opportunity is to solicit innovative solutions that contribute to the hypersonic system capabilities described in the JHTO Science & Technology (S&T) roadmap. The focus is on prototyping critical subsystems, advancing enabling technologies, and exploring disruptive technologies with the potential to enhance hypersonic capabilities. Selected solutions should demonstrate a clear path toward operationalizing these technologies and integrating them into military systems to meet the needs of the warfighter. The full technical requirements will be defined when the Request for Solutions (RFS) is released in January 2025.

The key deliverables for this program include the submission of a white paper that outlines a proposed solution for addressing the challenges described in the JHTO’s roadmap. These white papers will be evaluated by the Government team to select proposals for the Pitch Day. Participants in the Pitch Day will have the opportunity to present their solutions, which could ultimately lead to the funding and development of prototype systems. The Pitch Day event is scheduled for March 27, 2025.

To participate, interested organizations must submit a white paper by February 21, 2025, at 12:00 PM ET. Prior to this, participants may attend a virtual Teaming Event, Innovator NETWORX, where organizations can present their capabilities and explore potential partnerships. A Teaming List will also be made available to help facilitate collaborations. Additionally, a Project TALX event on February 13, 2025, will provide more information about the opportunity and allow for a live Q&A session with government representatives.

The timeline for the JHTO project is as follows: the "Coming Soon" notice was released on January 14, 2025, with the RFS set to release on January 31, 2025. Questions regarding the RFS will be accepted until February 7, 2025, and Q&A responses will be provided by February 17, 2025. The final solution submission deadline is February 21, 2025, followed by the Pitch Day on March 27, 2025.

For interested participants, the application process includes submitting required documents through the Key Document Request form on the opportunity’s page. This form grants access to the project’s important documents, including the RFS and additional information. To be included in the Teaming List, organizations must consent to share their information with others who are also interested in collaborating on the JHTO opportunity.
