Description

The Boating Infrastructure Grant Program provides funding for transient moorage facilities serving recreational motorboats that are 26 feet or longer. These grants are intended to support the construction, renovation, and maintenance of tie-up facilities including slips, docks, and navigational aids, ensuring they are accessible for short-term stays of 15 days or less. The program aims to enhance boating infrastructure on large navigable waters and is administered by the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC) in partnership with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS). Eligible applicants include public and private operators of boating facilities, such as municipal agencies, state agencies, and other government entities. Applications are due by July 31, with successful proposals being approved early the following year. The program requires a 25% match from project sponsors, and grants are reimbursed after project completion and certification.
