The NextCycle Michigan program is an accelerator initiative designed to support innovative projects that improve recycling, composting, and sustainable materials management across the state of Michigan. The program offers funding and technical assistance to public sector entities and private organizations that develop scalable, high-impact recycling and supply chain solutions.

The 2025 application period runs from February 17, 2025, to March 31, 2025. Eligible projects must align with one of the two key focus areas:

Programs and Infrastructure – Public sector-led projects that expand residential or commercial access to recycling and composting, develop shared infrastructure, or introduce innovative waste management systems.
Supply Chain Solutions – Projects aimed at improving material collection, processing of recovered materials, or developing end markets for reusable or recyclable materials in Michigan.
Applicants are encouraged to review the Instructional Application Packet before applying, as it outlines eligibility, project types, required documentation, and additional resources. The application process is fully online, and submissions must be completed by March 31, 2025.

Virtual office hours are available for one-on-one application assistance with NextCycle facilitators. Interested applicants can schedule a 30-minute meeting with facilitators such as Kerrin O’Brien and Elisa Seltzer for personalized guidance.
