Description
The Community Fund Grants program, offered by the Kosciusko County Community Foundation, provides competitive funding to nonprofit organizations that serve the communities within Kosciusko County, Indiana. These grants are designed to support a broad range of charitable activities across seven areas of interest: education, health, recreation, arts and culture, civic projects, the environment, and human services.
Applications are accepted on a triannual basis, with submission deadlines on March 1, July 1, and November 1 each year. All applicants are required to contact Alex Hall, Vice President of Programs, to schedule a discussion about their proposed project before submitting an application. Applications must be submitted through the Foundation’s online grant portal, and first-time applicants must request login credentials from staff.
A range of documentation is required with the application, including a 501(c)(3) IRS determination letter (if applicable), lists of board and staff members with city/town of residence, a completed authorization signature form, and financial documents including the most recent Statement of Activities, Statement of Financial Position, and, optionally, the organization’s most recent IRS Form 990.
The review process spans approximately 11 weeks after each application deadline. During the first five weeks, Foundation staff screen submissions for completeness and may request clarifications. The following three weeks are reserved for Grant Committee review and recommendations, with the Board of Directors making final award decisions in weeks 10 and 11. Grant recipients are notified by mail, and grant agreements are included in approval letters. Approved grantees must submit payment requests through the same online grant portal.
The Community Fund Grants are an integral part of the Foundation’s mission to strengthen communities and serve as a vehicle for impactful charitable giving in Kosciusko County. For more information, applicants can contact Alex Hall at alex@kcfoundation.org or call 574-267-1901.
