This program provides funding to federal agencies for developing energy and water efficiency projects at government-owned facilities, supporting initiatives that promote sustainability and combat climate change.
Description
The U.S. Department of Energy's Federal Energy Management Program (FEMP) offers the AFFECT grant program, providing direct funding to federal agencies for developing energy and water efficiency projects at federal government-owned facilities. Phase 2 of AFFECT BIL is currently accepting applications, with a deadline of June 27, 2024. The grant aims to support net-zero building projects, aligning with the Energy Act of 2020 and Executive Orders 14057 and 14008, to promote sustainability and combat climate change. Eligible projects can cover equipment, technical assistance, and other services for planning, development, or implementation of energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives.
The funding is distributed across four topic areas: project development, program/procedure development, modifying existing projects, and new projects, with specific allocations for each area.
Applications must be submitted via the Clean Energy Infrastructure eXCHANGE. The platform will open for submissions three months before each phase's deadline, and applications must be submitted by 5 p.m. ET on the deadline date.
