Description

The Anne Arundel Women Giving Together (AAWGT) Grants program supports nonprofit organizations focused on improving the quality of life for women and families in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. For 2025, AAWGT invites nonprofits with gross annual revenue under $1,000,000 to apply for grants ranging from $5,000 to $25,000. This initiative aims to address critical community needs, including health, education, housing, food security, and violence prevention, while advancing principles of diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility, and belonging (DEIAB).

Eligible organizations must be 501(c)(3) nonprofits or affiliated with a qualifying fiscal sponsor or group exemption. Programs or projects must directly benefit women and families in Anne Arundel County and align with AAWGT’s mission. Applications from organizations continuing currently funded programs must demonstrate substantial progress toward success. Funding is limited to two consecutive grant cycles, with a mandatory two-year hiatus before reapplying.

The 2025 application process opens on January 2, 2025, through the Foundant online portal and closes on January 31, 2025, at 11:59 PM. Prospective applicants were invited to attend an optional workshop held on January 7, 2025, to understand the process and expectations. The grant year begins on July 1, 2025, and successful applicants will be determined by membership vote following a thorough review process.

The application requires several sections, including organizational information, proposal details, and financial documentation. Applicants must provide their Federal EIN, Maryland Charity Registration Number, and Maryland Business Entity Number to verify eligibility. Proposals should outline the specific need being addressed, the anticipated impact, and a detailed budget using AAWGT-provided templates. A summary of the proposal, used in the final review, must concisely capture the project's essence.

AAWGT does not fund discriminatory organizations, capital projects, endowments, sponsorships, political activities, or sectarian religious programs. Organizations may also not apply for individual grants or fundraising events. Applications will be reviewed, and eliminated applicants will be notified promptly.

For assistance, applicants can contact AAWGT through grants@givingtogether.org for program-related questions or GrantAppHelp@givingtogether.org for technical support. Additional resources, including a downloadable application and workshop materials, are available on the AAWGT website.
