Description
City of New Carrollton’s Home Improvement Assistance Program (HIAP) is now open for applications. The program aims to assist residential homeowners in maintaining safe and healthy living conditions by providing grant funds of up to $25,000. The City has allocated $900,000 in American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds to HIAP and will provide up to $25,000 per eligible household while funding is available. Eligible uses of the grant include maintenance, repair, or replacement of various home components. To qualify for the HIAP, households must meet income or asset requirements that have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and be located within the City of New Carrollton’s boundaries or in a Qualified Census Tract with specific income thresholds based on household size.
