Description

Anne Arundel County has opened applications for the Community Reinvestment and Repair Commission (CRRC) Grants, funded through the Community Reinvestment and Repair Fund (CRRF). These grants are designed to support nonprofit and community-based organizations offering services to low- to moderate-income (LMI) households, with a focus on communities historically impacted by cannabis criminalization. The CRRF is funded through Maryland’s recreational cannabis tax revenue, in line with the Cannabis Reform Act of 2022.

Applicants must apply through the Neighborly Portal and are required to create a free account. Applications are open to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations and community groups with a fiscal sponsor. Programs must benefit residents of Anne Arundel County and address one or more of the CRRC’s strategic priorities: mental health and substance abuse services; education, youth enrichment, and after-school programs; housing and homelessness prevention; or workforce development and employment training.

Priority will be given to programs serving Disproportionately Impacted Areas (DIAs), which include ZIP codes: 21060, 21061, 21113, 21122, 21144, 21225, 21401, 21403, 20724, and 20755. These areas were identified based on historical data reflecting the effects of cannabis criminalization.

Two tiers of funding are available:

Tier 1 Grants offer multi-year support of $75,000–$100,000 per year for up to three years.

Tier 2 Grants offer single-year support ranging from $20,000 to $75,000.

The application process includes several training opportunities for prospective applicants:

April 8 at 2:00 p.m. (Virtual via Zoom)

April 9 at 5:30 p.m. (Chesapeake Arts Center)

April 11 at 3:30 p.m. (Stanton Center)

April 17 at 5:30 p.m. (Severn Center)

All in-person sessions will also include a virtual option. A recording of the April 8 training will be made available for on-demand access. Applicants are encouraged to RSVP in advance using the training form.

The CRRC grants are administered in partnership with Arundel Community Development Services (ACDS), which supports the implementation and monitoring of the program. More details and application links can be accessed through the Anne Arundel County website and the ACDS website.
