2024 Local Soil Health Workshop Grant
This funding opportunity provides financial support to conservation districts in Utah to organize workshops and conferences that educate agricultural producers on soil health practices.
Description
Funding will be provided to conservation districts to host local workshops or conferences focused on soil health in the 2025 calendar year. Each application can request up to $10,000, with the grants being reimbursement-based. The funds are intended to cover expenses such as event facility rentals, speaker fees, supplies, advertisements, and meals within per diem rates. The goal is to expand localized knowledge of soil health principles and practices across Utah through community-sized educational events. Eligible costs include event space rental, speaker fees, meals, printed materials, advertisements, and administrative costs (with a maximum of 5%).
Eligible applicants are organizations that work with agricultural producers in Utah and have the capacity and experience to host high-quality local events, manage grants, and implement projects. The events must be new or significantly expanded existing events. The grant aims to support producers in implementing soil health practices through knowledge sharing at workshops, conferences, and field demonstration events.
