County Executive’s Office

This funding opportunity provides financial support to nonprofit organizations in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, to enhance or launch programs that benefit local residents, particularly underserved populations.

Description

The County Executive's Community Support Grants program in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, offers funding opportunities for nonprofit organizations. Administered by Arundel Community Development Services, this program provides grants ranging from $15,000 to $50,000 to support programs, projects, and initiatives that benefit residents and communities in Anne Arundel County. For FY2026, the total anticipated funding available is approximately $2 million, though this amount is subject to change.

The purpose of this grant is to support nonprofit organizations in continuing existing programs, expanding their reach, or launching new initiatives that improve and enrich the lives of county residents. The funding can be used for staff costs, supplies, travel, equipment, and a percentage of administrative overhead proportional to the program or project's budget. Additionally, the grant supports one-time projects or small equipment purchases. While collaborative projects are preferred, they are not a requirement for funding.

Priority will be given to proposals that align with the County Executive’s goals, particularly initiatives that serve underserved populations, promote health and well-being, advance equity and inclusion, and address opportunity gaps in education. Applications that clearly demonstrate how they support these priorities will have a stronger chance of being funded.

The application process for FY2026 opens on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, and closes on Thursday, February 21, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. EST. Applications must be submitted online through the Arundel Community Development Services’ Neighborly Portal. Prospective applicants who have not previously used the portal must create an account before submitting their application. A virtual application training session was held on January 10, 2025, with materials and recordings available for reference.

Interested organizations are encouraged to review the FY2026 program guidelines before applying to ensure they meet eligibility requirements and submission criteria. Additional questions can be directed to program contacts at Arundel Community Development Services. The grant program aims to enhance community support efforts and ensure funding is distributed to impactful and necessary programs within Anne Arundel County.
