The Deacon Charitable Foundation Grant
Description
The Deacon Charitable Foundation provides grants and in-kind donations to nonprofit agencies and community programs in Washington, Oregon, and California. Their focus areas include human services, animal welfare, and environmental protection. Grants range from $500 to $5,000 and can be used for various projects such as core operating support, program development, and facility renovation. Grant applications are accepted by invitation only through the Common Grant Application website. Eligible organizations must have 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status, serve communities in Washington, Oregon or California, align with the foundation's focus areas, provide equal opportunity to all individuals regardless of various factors, and not have any pending proposals under consideration by the foundation.
The Deacon Charitable Foundation does not fund direct grants to individuals, endowments, general fund drives or special events. They also do not provide funding for sectarian or religious organizations that primarily benefit their own members or adherents. Additionally, they do not fund political parties or trade associations, organizations that discriminate against certain groups of people, advertising and promotion activities, team sponsorships or individual teams. The foundation does not require a formal evaluation report but appreciates receiving information about the impact they had on funded programs.
If an organization meets the eligibility requirements and wishes to be considered for funding from the Deacon Charitable Foundation, they should contact the Giving Committee Chair at the Deacon office closest to where their services are provided. Contact information for each office is provided in the grant guidelines.
