Description
The Mary S. Mulligan Charitable Trust is a philanthropic initiative managed by Bank of America’s Connecticut office. Established in 1967, the Trust’s mission is to support a broad spectrum of charitable causes, including religious, scientific, literary, educational, and humanitarian purposes, as well as initiatives focused on the prevention of cruelty to children or animals. It provides grant funding to nonprofit organizations that align with these values and serve communities within New York State.
The Trust accepts applications biannually, with deadlines on May 1 and September 1 each year. Grants are awarded for a period of one year, and applications are reviewed on a staggered basis. Applicants will typically receive notification of funding decisions via email between July and November, depending on the submission cycle.
The funding focus includes projects and programs within the categories of arts, culture, and humanities; education; health; and human services. There are no stated restrictions beyond the geographic limitation to New York, and the Trust appears open to a broad range of charitable activities, consistent with its original mission.
Applications must be submitted through the Bank of America online portal. Detailed procedural documents and support guides are available in both PDF and Word formats via the Philanthropic Solutions section of the Bank of America website. Prospective applicants are encouraged to carefully review these resources to ensure compliance with submission requirements.
For questions regarding the application process, applicants should email ct.grantmaking@bofa.com and include the foundation name in the subject line for efficient handling. More detailed contact information is also available within the downloadable procedures documents.
