Boulder County Emergency Services Grants
This grant provides financial support to fire districts and departments in rural and mountain areas of Boulder County for equipment, infrastructure, and training improvements to enhance emergency services.
Description
The Boulder County Fire District Grant Program provides financial support for emergency services in rural and mountain areas of Boulder County through the 2024 Fall Grant Cycle. Funded by the Emergency Services Sales and Use Tax, the program supports equipment purchases, infrastructure improvements, operational enhancements, and specialized training. Approximately $1.7 million is available for this cycle, with applications due by December 10, 2024, at 5 PM.
Eligible applicants include fire districts and departments providing services within Boulder County’s rural and mountain areas. Applicants must complete the Fire Protection District (FPD) Survey by December 15, 2024, and submit a current W-9 with their application. While there is no maximum funding request, applicants should prioritize items within their proposals, as partial funding is possible.
Proposals must address specific needs, demonstrate benefits to the community, and align with goals such as enhancing response efficiency and promoting equity. Applications should include a description of the agency, project goals, funding plans, and strategies for sustainability. Detailed cost breakdowns, vendor quotes, and supporting documents like annual budgets or letters of support are required.
Award decisions are guided by the Emergency Services Grant Program Advisory Committee and approved by the County Commissioners. Funds must be used within one year, and recipients must submit a final report detailing project outcomes, including a narrative and visual documentation.
