Description
The New York State Department of State's Brownfield Opportunity Area (BOA) Program is soliciting applications from eligible municipalities, community-based non-profit organizations, and NYC Community Boards for funding to support community redevelopment of areas affected by known or suspected brownfields. Eligible activities include county-wide pre-planning, planning, predevelopment activities, and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments within State-Designated BOAs. The program aims to transform brownfields into community assets generating economic growth and public amenities. Applications are due by July 31, 2024, with awards ranging from $100,000 to $500,000. Approximately $2,000,000 is available for the grant cycle.
