2024-2025 Teens Changing Gaston County Grant
This grant provides funding for teen-led service projects that positively impact the community in Gaston County, encouraging youth leadership and collaboration.
Description
The 2024-2025 TCGC (Teens Changing Gaston County) Grant program offers teens the opportunity to secure funding for service projects that have a positive impact in Gaston County. Eligible projects must be teen-led, align with community benefit objectives, and cannot include stipends or payments to individuals. Grants range from $50 to $1,000, providing substantial support for innovative and impactful ideas.
Applications must be submitted online by 11:59 PM on January 5, 2025. Late submissions or those sent outside the online system will not be considered. To apply, teens must be affiliated with a nonprofit organization or school sponsor, which will receive the funds on behalf of the applicant and assist in project execution. For those without a sponsor, the Foundation offers support in connecting with one.
The application process is straightforward and designed to encourage youth participation. Applicants will be notified of funding decisions by the end of January 2025. While applying does not guarantee funding, teens with strong, well-defined project ideas are encouraged to submit proposals.
The grant cannot be used for personal benefit or individual payments. Instead, projects should emphasize community impact and collaboration. If applying as an individual, teens must demonstrate that the project will serve the broader community and not the individual applicant.
The TCGC program also involves teens in grant-making decisions. Those interested in joining the TCGC as decision-makers can apply in the summer of 2025. For more information about becoming a TCGC member, contact Lauren Vanacore at Lvanacore@cfgaston.org or 704-864-0927, ext. 102.
This program is a valuable opportunity for teens in Gaston County to lead and execute meaningful projects that address local needs while gaining leadership experience. Participants are encouraged to craft clear and impactful applications to increase their chances of success.
