Description

The New York State Governor's Traffic Safety Committee (GTSC) is accepting applications for its traffic safety grant program. This funding opportunity is open to state, county, and municipal agencies, as well as qualified nonprofit organizations that can effectively address traffic safety issues within New York State. The purpose of this grant is to support initiatives that improve traffic safety through education, enforcement, and community engagement efforts.

All applications must be submitted through eGrants, GTSC’s grant management system. To register in eGrants, applicants must provide their Federal ID number, New York State Vendor ID, and Unique Entity Identifier (UEI). Applicants are also required to comply with New York State regulations regarding workers' compensation, disability, and paid family leave benefits insurance. Proof of compliance or exemption from these requirements must be submitted with the application.

Nonprofit applicants must meet additional requirements. They must be registered and prequalified in the New York State Statewide Financial System (SFS) before the grant application deadline. They must also be in good standing with the NYS Attorney General's Charities Bureau and maintain compliance throughout the grant period. If awarded a grant of $100,000 or more, nonprofits are required to complete the New York State Vendor Responsibility Questionnaire as part of the contract approval process.

The NYS Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee has implemented strict compliance measures to ensure grant recipients follow proper financial and reporting guidelines. Applicants must ensure that their Vendor ID and agency name match exactly with records in the GTSC eGrants system and the Statewide Financial System to avoid delays in electronic payments and reimbursements.

For more information, applicants are encouraged to visit the GTSC website and refer to their FAQ section on eGrants. Additional assistance can be obtained by contacting the Fiscal Manager at the NYS Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee, 6 Empire State Plaza, Room 410B, Albany, NY 12228.
