This program provides financial assistance to local governments in Colorado to address the community impacts of limited stakes gaming by funding public facilities and services.

Description

The Local Government Limited Gaming Impact Program offers financial aid to local governments to mitigate the effects of limited stakes gaming in the communities of Cripple Creek, Black Hawk, and Central City, Colorado. Funded by state taxes on limited gaming activities, the program supports planning, construction, and maintenance of public facilities, as well as the provision of public services directly impacted by gaming. Applicants must demonstrate quantifiable gaming impacts and identify the needs for public services and facilities arising from these impacts. The grant is competitive, and eligible entities include counties, municipalities (excluding the gaming cities of Black Hawk, Central City, and Cripple Creek), and special districts providing emergency services, with the possibility to apply on behalf of impacted private nonprofit agencies.
